Learning Resources – Numberblocks Mathlink Cubes Stop Frame Animation

Learning Resources became a Numberblocks licensing partner in June 2020 with their Numberblocks Mathlink Cubes. Product Development moved at pace and Set 1-10 launched in November 2020.

Numberblocks Mathlink Cubes were an immediate hit with the fan base. At launch on Amazon, they became the fastest-selling new toy and it was tricky keeping up with product demand.

Fans wanted to interact with their Mathlink Cubes and with an ever-broadening distribution base, Larkshead looked at ways to help widen the appeal and celebrate the successful partnership between Learning Resources and Numberblocks on a global scale.

The solution was a series of stop-frame animations based on five popular Numberblocks episodes. Choosing the episodes presented tough choices but the episodes selected offered real scope in terms of imaginative adventures.

Working with magic transformation sequences that transported the Numberblocks CGI animated characters into a world of Numberblock Mathlink Cubes stop-frame has proved to be an incredible marketing success. Currently, the animations have enjoyed over 83 million views and a rapturous response from the fan base.
